My GPS was telling me to make a left turn down an embankment and straight into the woods. I was sitting atop a small hill in the tiny town of Linville, North Carolina after a beautiful winding, backroad drive when ‘SIRI’ told me I had ‘arrived at my destination.’ Alas there was no destination in sight and I knew then and there that the location of Sara and Drew’s wedding was going to be special. You see, GPS doesn’t know were the magical places are. I finally stumbled upon the hidden drive and walked into the most beautiful back yard I have ever seen. Flanked by two historic homes an enchanted lawn that fairy tales are made of was brimming with bright blooms, rustic wood and cafe string lights. I half expected to see woodland creatures with big, shinning eyes and tiny winged fairies scatter as I took quiet steps into the garden and up the stone patio, moss covered steps. As I made my way into one of the houses, I met Sara for the first time. She was beautiful, laid back and beaming while she wrote a Dr. Seuss poem in her guest book surrounded by her closest friends. You wouldn’t even have known it was her wedding day if it weren’t for a hairdresser fondling her golden locks and adjusting her perfectly placed flower crown. I just loved everything about how Sara and Drew framed their day to perfectly tell the story of them. An intimate backyard wedding, delicious fare, simple tables dressed in southern charm and a picturesque backdrop adorned with some of the most incredible floral arrangements. Who would have known that so much love could be nestled in such a tiny corner of an even smaller town. It was beyond magical. I lost count of all of the heartfelt moments that night. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from their day and maybe just maybe you’ll feel a little enchanted!
